Garuda Flight Attendant Suffered Sexual Harrasment

A female flight attendant who worked for Garuda Indonesia complained to her superiors for alleged sexual harrasment of passengers flying from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, Central Java on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

On Saturday, an airline official confirmed the insident and said that the behavior toward flight attendant was not acceptable.

Garuda Indonesia's Vice President of corporate communications Benny S Butarbutar said, "We regret that the insident occurred. Our flight attendants serving passengers with polite and professionally, but their courtesy should not be misunderstood."

Benny did not give details about the incident, and also refused to name the flight attendants involved.

The news on social media said, the incident happened when a flight attendant offering drinks to the passengers, there was a passenger who said he wanted milk. Meanwhile, another passenger sitting next to him asked, "milk from the right or left?" When the flight attendant left them, the two passengers were laughing and engaged in conversation.

Then the matter was drawn out, The passengers in interrogated by the flight crew throughout the flight. 

Immediately after landing, the cabin attendant reported the incident to the Pilot and Flight Service Manager. The case was handled by Aviation Security and a team of Garuda Indonesia in Yogyakarta.
