The National Police of cyber crime division and the Bogor Police have arrested 31 Chinese nationals as a suspected of cyber fraud.
"We are still questioning to the 31 Chinese citizens," said Bogor Police chief of the Operating Divisions, Comr.Prasetyo Purbo Nurcahyo, as quoted by Antara News agency on Tuesday.
The 31 suspects were arrested in a joint operation involving the Bogor police and Bogor Immigration Offices at a house in Vila Duta housing in Jl. Kingkilaban, East Bogor on Monday evening.
According to Prasetyo, the Chinese nationals had arrived in Indonesia individually since April and has since lived in that house.
"They consisted of 22 men and nine women. None of them are couples," said Prasetyo.
Prasetyo also said that they believed to be involved in cyber fraud, tageting Chinese residents living in Indonesia.
"They seem to belong to an International network," Pasetyo said, adding that no suspects were carrying a passport.
Police also confiscated 25 pieces of home phones, 34 mobile phones, 30 pieces modems, two laptops, one car, one motorcycle, four walkie-talkies and a printer.
